Ready to go

So, it's Tuesday afternoon and I'm getting ready to leave for Kalymnos tomorrow. Rhodes's been gorgeous as always and I'm very sorry to leave it. As a matter of fact I'm only posting this so that I can include a photo of the Grand Master's palace in the citadel so that everyone who hasn't been here knows what they're missing! So, until the next post from Kalymnos, enjoy!

I've just realized that uploading pictures onto blogs is not an easy thing. I promise to look into it when I have a proper connection cause I'm running out of time and money doing this at an internet cafe. Sorry....

Και το καθιερωμένο μηνυμα στα ελληνικά....
Ειμαι έτοιμος να φύγω για Κάλυμνο αύριο πραγμα που μου φαίρνει ανάμικτα συναισθήματα. Από τη μιά δεν θέλω να αφήσω τη Ρόδο που είναι υπέροχη και από την άλλη βερέθηκα να κυκλοφορώ σαν τουρίστας, να μην έχω το νοικοκυριό μου τρόπον τινά. Τέλος πάντων, μέχρι την επόμενη ανακοίνωση από τη Κάλυμνο δείτε μια φωτογραφία από Ρόδο στην οποία φυσικά δεν είμαι μέσα μιας και συνήθως περιφερόμουν μόνος μου.

Λοιπόν μόλις ανακάλυψα οτι το να βάζεις φωτογραφίες στα blog δεν είναι τόσο απλή υπόθεση και έχοντας μόνο 8' ακόμα δεν προλαβαίνω ούτε καν να το ψάξω. Ελπίζω να αποκτήσω κάποιου είδους σύνδεση στην Κάλυμνο ειδάλλως τα επόμενα post προβλέπονται πολύ στεγνά...

1st Station: Rhodes

So, this is it guys, my first blog and my first post ever!
I've finally found a job related to conservation although not building conservation as I had hoped to. Anyway, it's better than lazying back at home, playing videogames until my thumb starts to bleed and fight with my mum all the time.
So, Kalymnos it is! 14h by boat from Pireus, as barren as a respectable aegean sea island can be and home of a recently found ensemble of archaic, classical and hellenistic sculpture which I must go there and save (hehe!). Fot the time being though, I am stationed at Rhodes for a sort of an orientation (I have a feeling they didn't trust in my resume...).
Blogging already looks like an amazing opportunity to share with everyone my experiences during this 7 month (at least) period. I promise to post as often as I can and include some pictures too.

Λοιπόν και ένα μήνυμα στα ελληνικά για να με παρακολουθούν και οι έλληνες φίλοι.
Ειμαι Ρόδο, αυτο το ξέρετε ήδη και περιττό να σας πω οτι ειναι φανταστικά. Μάλλον η πιο ωραία πόλη στην Ελλάδα. Ετοιμάζομαι για Κάλυμνο την Τετάρτη και στο μεταξύ περιφέρομαι στη πόλη σαν μανιακός τουρίστας. Δυστυχώς είμαι μόνος μου τις περισσότερες ώρες γιαυτό νοιώθω οτι πρέπει να σας πώ οτι μου λέιπετε όλοι πάρα πολύ! (ξέρετε ποιοι είστε εσείς)
Δυστυχώς δεν έχω άλλο χρόνο (και λεφτά!). Όλα αυτά γίνονται σε ιντερνετ καφέ αν δεν το έχετε καταλάβει.
